History on the studios

The Disney MGM Studios were opened in 1989 as a pre-emptive strike on the up and comming Universal Studios. The park promised to deliver more than the other two them parks by being a real life working film studio. Apart from that it promised a look in to the movies the "Disney way" it promised shows and rides each themed to diferant aspects of entertainment film,music and TV. It suceeded, the Studios is now one of the main things that draws people to Walt Disney World every day. Even though it is'nt as widly promote as the other parks The Studios will soon have its time to shine as plans are under way for thwe Studios to be the centre pice for the year long celibrations of Walt Disneys 100th birthday. Being built in front of the Chineese theatre is a huge 9 storie Sorcerer Mickey hat as a crowning centre piece of the celibrations, so who knows maybe now more than ever the studios will be able to shine!
